“But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!” (Jude 1:20-21, The Message)

Beloved, it is God’s plan to build you up into a person who is fit for His service. It is God’s desire for live a life that is saturated by His divine will for you. It is God’s will for you to become a spiritual champion in Christ. As you seek to maintain a healthy but steady spiritual life with God, there are some spiritual principles and resources that God has made available for you and I to enjoy. The Scripture tells us that God through "…His divine power has given to us all things that pertain that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:3-4, NKJV)

The Process

So how do I become a Champion in Christ? Much could be said about the process of building our inner strength and of becoming a spiritual champion. Without being very cavalier about the subject, I will use a very well-known quote from one of the world’s greatest athletes. Muhammad Ali (the world’s greatest heavy weight champion in boxing) once said, “Champions are made from something they have deep inside them, a desire, a dream, a vision. They have a last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill."

The Ultimate Goal

Becoming a spiritual champion in Christ is a process that warrants the grace of God and demands much discipline on our part. As I mentioned early, God has already made all the investment necessary to ensure that you can reach the spiritual goal of becoming of one His spiritual champions. Friends, none of this is possible without developing a life that is built on unwavering commitment to the spiritual disciplines such as Bible study, meditation, prayer, worship and unhindered fellowship with God. God the Father, loves you so much that He has the best in mind for you.  Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd is ready to lead you into the journey of becoming a spiritual champion. And the Holy Spirit is ready to empower you with the grace and fortitude to become strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. I love you and I am praying for you! God bless you in your spiritual journey!
