WEARING SPIRITUAL LENSES

15 That’s why, when I heard of the solid trust you have in the Master Jesus and your outpouring of love to all the Christians, 16 I couldn’t stop thanking God for you-every time I prayed, I’d think of you and give thanks. 17 But I do more than thank. I ask-ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory-to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing Him personally, 18 your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is He is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life He has for Christians, 19 oh, the utter extravagance of His work in us who trust Him-endless energy, boundless strength!” (Ephesians 1:15-19, The Message)

In a recent conversation with a friend, I began to reflect upon the power of having spiritual sight. In this day and age, one of the greatest assets that a believer can have is the ability to wear spiritual lenses. How often have I looked at my own life circumstances and made an assumption about them? And how often has God the Holy Spirit convicted me of the sin of presumption? We need to seek God for the gifts of discernment and wisdom. If you would be honest with God and others, all of us at some point or another have committed the grievous sins called presumption, and assumption.  People will always be making assumptions, drawing conclusions, and offering suggestions about who you are, what you do and what you need to do. There are many times when such assumptions are untrue and such words of advice will do more harm than good.

I believe that Christians must be careful not to look at things, situations and others with their carnal eyes or fleshly propensities.  It is my prayer that we would develop the habit of forming positive thoughts concerning God’s plan for your life, your current context and the relationships that God has entrusted and enrich your life with. It is God’s desire that His children learn how to develop the spirit of discernment. “21 Folly is pleasure to him who is without heart and sense, but a man of understanding walks uprightly [making straight his course].” (Proverbs 15:21, Amplified).  It is my prayer that “the God our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory-to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing Him personally, 18 your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is He is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life He has for Christians” (Ephesians 1:17b-18, The Message) I am praying for you!

OH, THE DEPTH AND WEALTH OF GOD’S LOVE!

"Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!"(Rom. 11:33).

Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom. Father, may you reveal Yourself to Your children as we take time to worship you in spirit and in truth! Lord we hunger and thirst for more of You! Pour out Your Spirit I pray in Jesus' name!

Nothing is greater than bathing in the deep love of God. As we spend more time in the Word of God, we cannot help but to get acquainted and to embrace the power of living a life full of the Word of life! Learning to integrate the Word of God in every area of life is the greatest and most rewarding journey for the followers of Christ. Integrating faith, living, and learning the wisdom of God is at the heart of discipleship. The Holy Spirit is our Helper and Teacher and this is an education you can build on for the rest of your life. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead, teach and guide you today! May God bless your obedience!

PRESS ON: GO BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY!

“12 I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. 13 Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. 14 I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.” (Philippians 3:12-14, The Message)

Our God is the God of excellence and He has not called His children to a life of perpetual failure.  He has promised to be a very present Help to His covenant people and He stands ready to empower us when the need arises for us to rebound from failures.  I do not know what failures you have experienced so far this year, or even in the past 8 months, but God stands ready to reverse the trend of failure in your life.  God says for you not to wallow in a state of despair if you have experienced failure at some level. We all have areas of weakness that only the Lord can remedy and transform for our good. So reach out for Christ. Forget those things which are behind, and reach forward to those things which are ahead; and press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14).

I urge you to go beyond the call of duty and “seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God” (Colossians 3:1, NKJV). Above all, I encourage you to “Set your mind on things on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:2, NKJV). The race is not for the faint of heart, but you will fulfill your divine assignment if you keep your eyes on the goal. I love you and I am praying for you!

The best is yet to come! Amen!
